Rutkowski as he has mastered the Mazurka’s rubato tempo to perfection, he enjoys himself by imparting a sense of lightheartedness to the sometimes naive motifs. The pianist does not attempt to bewilder the listener by his proficiency and performance technique, he endears himself to us by an appropriate interpretation of the lyric contained in the works, while he resorts to his virtuoso skills (superb) only when it is required by the music – after all written by a composer and virtuoso himself. Kacper Miklaszewski, Ruch Muzyczny Rafał Blechacz just released the Chopin Preludes for Deutsche Grammophon. Just what sophisticated music lovers are panting to hear: the definitive interpretation by a 21-year- old. The work Hubert Rutkowski is doing, I think, is much more useful. For connoisseurs a CD with music by Julian Fontana, recorded by H. Rutkowski is far more interesting. Ferdinand Gajewski The level of professionalism the young pianist Hubert Rutkowski possesses came across great appreciation amongst connoisseurs.
